Visualization Has the Power to Change Your Life
About 18 years ago, without a dime in my pocket and stuck in a toxic living situation, I created love, health, wealth, and happiness from the floor of my closet. All else had failed, and I had been studying the law of attraction. Every book I read was different, but one concept was overarching – the power of visualization. So, one day, I went to the only place in my house where I had any privacy, and I laid down on the floor of my closet, and I saw a new life for myself.
Each day, I would spend an hour, sometimes two hours, lying on the floor of my closet, envisioning a life that was the opposite of my physical reality. The life I saw in my mind’s eye was abundant, happy, and peaceful. Sometimes, the visions brought me to tears, but not like the tears I cried in my physical reality; these tears were tears of joy.
Flash forward to now. Every single vision I had while lying on the floor in that closet came true.
If your life sucks, I am going to teach you a visualization hack that might be a game-changer for you. Before I teach you this technique, keep in mind that brain studies reveal that thoughts produce the same mental instructions as actions. So, if you feel stuck and think you don’t have the resources to make changes, you’re wrong. You have everything you need right now to bring about any kind of change you want because you have a mind.
The biggest issue people have with visualizing for the purpose of creating their ideal worlds is not being able to conjure up the emotions that are associated with their greatest desires. Now, this usually happens because the visions do not seem real, and whatever you envision must feel real and natural; otherwise, you’ll have a hard time bringing it into the physical world.
So, you gotta keep it real. This is life, and even when your biggest manifestations show up, you’re still going to have to deal with bullshit here and there. Nothing is ever going to be completely perfect, so take that into consideration with your envisioning. Think about every piece of the process, including potential obstacles. A lot of stuff happens along the way and in between our manifestations showing up. OMG. That’s where the learning lessons prepare us for the manifestation. In your world, what might happen along the way?
Here’s an example.
Let’s say you want to attract a loving, supportive lifelong partner, but that person is nowhere in sight. You’re literally going to conjure them up with your envisioning, so what might happen along the way? Before you finally meet this person, how many dates will you go on? How many nights will you spend alone? How many people will ask you, “Are you ever gonna get married?” When you meet the person who’s meant for you, what might you look like at that moment? Are you at the gym or in the grocery store? Maybe you’ve left work and are a bit disheveled, and you meet this person, and you’re shy because you aren’t all fixed up. These are all hypothetical scenarios, but let them play out in your mind, and then switch to more empowering visions. What will be different when you are united with your person? What might happen? Will you have to tell your friends no a lot because you’re dating someone? Think about everything that might happen in between your manifestations.
Keep doing this, and eventually, the visions will feel more natural, and your manifestations will feel more attainable.
Let’s say you want to lose weight. We all know the pitfalls of a diet. Right? In this case, you might see yourself giving in to temptation but then getting back on track. You might see yourself struggling to exercise, but then switch that vision to one that is empowering. See yourself going through the obstacles, overcoming those, and then see the end result. Maybe you see yourself trying on clothes that you would not have even thought about trying on before. Maybe you see yourself getting compliments for your fit physique. However you want to frame it, just make sure you throw some realistic components in there.
You can use this strategy with anything. I recommend thinking through the details of each scenario before you envision your desires unfolding. I am a major advocate of writing things down, so if you like to write, do that. Write out everything you plan to envision beforehand, and that will help to keep you focused and guide your envisioning sessions.
Here’s another benefit to doing this. When you think about what could go wrong, you prepare yourself to be a problem-solver, and you build confidence. You envision a potential obstacle, but then you watch yourself overcome it. Those visions will make you feel calm and relieved, and those two feelings attract abundance like magnets. Unfortunately, we are wired to believe the bad stuff over the good, so (hypothetically speaking here) if you’re single and lonely and unhappy, it might be difficult to jump into envisioning yourself in a happy, healthy, fulfilling relationship. You’re probably not going to be able to convince yourself this person is coming; however, if you play out the worst and best-case scenarios in your mind, you will be more likely to believe what you’re seeing.
People have said throughout history, “I’ll believe that when I see it.” No, what really happens is you’ll see it when you believe it. Believing you have something is how you manifest it, and whatever you need to do to believe, do it. All of these techniques I teach you are for one reason only, and that’s to help you believe you have something when you don’t. If one technique doesn’t work, move on to another one, and keep moving on until you find the ones that work.
I’ll close with a best practice. Any amount of time you spend doing this is better than nothing but practice your envisioning techniques daily for at least 15 minutes. Go longer if you can, but you’ll know you’re making progress when your visions feel natural. When you feel like you already have what you want when you don’t, your manifestations are coming at you at the speed of light. Until you start to feel this way, you need to keep envisioning. Keep envisioning until you feel like what you’re seeing in your mind’s eye is as real as if it were sitting right in front of you.
